Resolutions

I’ve never been a big maker of New Year’s Resolutions.  To be truthful, the end and beginning of the school year are still to me more “year ending” markers than the end of the calendar year.

However, I do have some things I would like to accomplish in 2012.  I prefer to call them goals rather than resolutions….and so I present to you….the 2012 list:

1.  Potty train the boys.  I cannot wait, CANNOT WAIT to be diaper free in this household.  There will be no “oh, they aren’t babies anymore” sighs and tears, there will be shouts of JOY.  This goal does, however, require the cooperation of two strong willed 2 1/2 year old boys, so there is a major aspect of this goal that is out of my control.

2.  Get healthy.  Like, really and truly healthy.  Yes, this does involve losing some weight, but I’m not looking to wear a bikini or fit into a size 2 (hahahaha….I’ve never, ever been a size two.  I went from toddler clothing to chubby kid clothing).  I need to eat more vegetables.  I need to actually work out on a regular basis.  I need to stop mainlining Diet Mt. Dew like it is a food group unto itself.

As I know goal number 2 is way too “loosey goosey”, let’s say this:  Lose 20 lbs, eat 3 servings of veggies per day (I love fruit, that one has never been a problem),  cut the diet soda/caffeine habit, and work out 5 days per week.  Ok, so that may be like 4 goals in one.

3.  Find a place for everything in the house, and actually discipline myself to keep it there.

4.  Spend more time doing things I enjoy (sewing, crafts, spending time with friends.)  A sub goal here is to learn how to quilt.

With life being what it is presently, this all may be a bit ambitious, but I love a challenge….stay tuned for progress….
